Baller Foundation Uniform Reveal Party
What do you get when you combine your love of sports with your love for children? You get the Baller Foundation. On Saturday January 12, 2018, former Houston Dynamo Player and Founder of Baller Foundation, Nathan Koumaou hosted a Uniform Release Party at Booker T. Washington High School , located on the north side , which benefits the youth in the Baller Foundation soccer program. The Baller Foundation whose tagline is #ForwardAsOne, was birthed from Koumaou’s idea to “create an elite and professional soccer experience for children, no matter where they lived." "We felt that it was needed for children at elementary school level to have the opportunity to play soccer." "So, we are partnering with professional athletes and the school district to implement an after school opportunity for the elementary and middle schools.” Growing up the son of a professional soccer player who also was heavily involved in the community, Koumaou was able to be groomed into “the man I am today.” Koumaou is hoping to impact the lives of children in the same way his father did for him by “recreating my childhood and partnering with Houston and the community to make a positive impact on children.”
The Uniform Party also featured opening remarks from Mayor Sylvester Turner, a meet and greet with the kids in The Baller Foundation Program, gifts, and a presentation from Ballers Foundation board members. In addition to raising funds for programming, the events goal was to debut the new jerseys for the 2019 soccer season.
The Baller Foundation believes in using sports and the power of Baller Academy to positively impact the health and well being of disadvantaged youth and their families. For more information visit The Baller Foundation's website www.Baller Foundation.org
