Happy Birthday Michelle Obama

What's that old saying, "give people their roses while you can?" Well on January 17,1964 a true queen was born and today is a day we honor the one & only Michelle Obama.

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama, haling all the way from the Southside of Chicago is a lawyer, advocate for girl’s education, wife and mother . She is married to Barack Obama, the 44th and first African American leader of the free world and together they have two children, Malia & Sasha Obama. Michelle is a graduate of and Princeton University and Harvard Law School. She spent her early legal career working at the Sidley Austin law firm. She worked as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago and the Vice President for Community and External Affairs of the University of Chicago Medical Center.

During her husband, Barack Obama’s two terms in office, Michelle Obama did not let issues near and dear to her heart take the back seat. While serving as First Lady, Michelle used the opportunity to spread awareness on issues such as poverty, helping kids get in shape, and promote healthy eating habits. In 2016 during the Democratic National Convention Obama delivered a speech in support of the Democratic presidential nominee, friend, and former First Lady, Hillary Clinton, which birthed one of her most famous quotes, “When they go low, we go high.” Michelle Obama is the epitome of beauty, intelligence and fashion and someone I aspire to be like. It was an honor and privilege being able to witness a black woman serve as First Lady and do it with grace.
